Argentina – Week 51

Dear Family,

Here´s a couple pics from Sierra de los padres, it´s a little mountain range about 15 minutes from the city. Reminded me a lot of Pennsylvania! Except here it´s hot right now, haha. thankfully it hasn´t gotten too bad yet, but I´m sure it´s right around the corner.
This Saturday, we had lunch with our bishop and gave us some old speeches of missionary work, including a speech by Elder M. Russell Ballard speaks of the need to open your mouth at all times, everywhere, day and night, etc. . I read it, and I realized that missionary work has always been the same, from the beginning. We have to open our mouths and preach the gospel, and ALL and at all times. I know it is so. Well, the speech encouraged me to give more effort to talk to everyone and not justify and make excuses. We started talking to more people, and one of them was Liliana, a woman who was looking for answers. Her husband had died two years ago, just met the anniversary. I had searched everywhere for the doctrine and the church that will fill with peace and comfort, but still with an empty inside and many questions. We teach the plan of salvation, and began to mourn, and said he is very interested to know more about how it is possible that she and her husband can live together forever. It was an amazing experience, and we have an appointment with her today to explain more of these wonderful things. I know that God gives us strength is not known among men when we open our mouth at all times.I love the mission!

Family, I know the gospel is true. It is the power of God to CHANGE our lives. The incredibles changes that exist in the mission field are my testimony that Christ truly is willing to make our weaknesses strengths when we come unto him. I know God lives, and that he loves every one of His children. Share the gospel with everyone!

Love, Elder Hoffman
