Argentina – Week 53

Hello dearest family!

Well, Elder Chica is on his way to Colombia. We had an awesome last week together! The coolest part of the week was an awesome miracle we had, we were looking for a family that had gone to church before, and as we were looking for the address, a couple of teenagers started coming toward us. Lots of times the teenagers here happen to have a weapon and intentions to rob missionaries, and this particular teenager looked like he wasn´t up to much good, so we quickly knocked a door so that nothing would happen. We knocked, and he came up and entered the house, which surprised us. (We realized when he got close that he was harmless). He came out, and said that the guy inside was busy. We went on our way, but then he called after us and said, “I feel bad that people lie to you, couldn´t they just take a couple minutes to at least say that they aren´t interested or they´re busy? Do you have a pamphlet or something you can give me, that way you know you didn´t come here in vain”. We started talking with him, and he (Juan) and his friend (matias) are awesome. They came to the church the next day and I taught them English and Elder Chica helped them with Calculus, and on Sunday they showed up for church. Juan is a great kid who has lost his way a little, but wants to change. As he heard the testimonies of the atonement of Christ he began to cry, and the spirit was so strong! I´m super excited for him, he said he wants to get baptized, pray a lot for him and his friend!

My new companion is awesome, his name is Elder Bellido from Lima Peru. I`m super excited for our time together, he´s a very dedicated obedient missionary and has a great vision. Monolito, here we come. (:

I love you all so much family! Haloween really doesn´t exist here, we didn´t see a single soul dressed up, haha. The weather is getting really nice though, which is awesome. It´s been amazing to see the great change that is going on in the mission. The last three months we´ve passed 100 baptisms in the mission, and this past month there were 117. The work of the lord is accelerating! There are change we never thought would happen here, and it sounds like it´s accelerating everywhere.

A last thought before I have to go: Elder Chica shared a scripture in his testimony yesterday, I absolutely loved it:

D&C 123:16 – You know, brethren, that a very large ship is benefited very much by a very small helm in the time of a storm, by being kept workways with the wind and the waves. Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.

Let us all cheerfully do all things that lie in our power, and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance to see the salvation of God and for His arm to be revealed.

I love you all un montonazo!
